Olympic Sculpture

Previewing at Heathrow's Terminal 5 this Summer 2011

As a guest artist with Bath's 'Art at the edge' organisation, Nikki Taylor has created a selection of life-size wire mesh sculptures of Olympic athletes for their 'Sculptural Celebration of Sport 2012. These include the diver Tom Daley and 2008 gold medallist sprinter Jason Gardener MBE, who both kindly posed for Nikki enabling her to take detailed shots and measurements. She combines these with live action pictures to capture the power and beauty of their performance.

Nikki has also made a female Rhythmic Gymnast together with torso versions available to order.

The figures were exhibited at Bath's Thermae Spa in the Cross Bath to launch Nikki's contribution to the scheme and will be on display at Heathrow's Terminal 5 in the departures concourse this summer
From 3rd July until end September.

Ultimately the figures will form part of a sculpture trail around the city of Bath in Summer 2012.

All the sculptures are for sale from now onwards, with 50% of the price going to Paralymics GB and the Youth Sport Trust who help disadvanted young people. For further information on the project see www.artattheedge.org.
